TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) announced the launch of its latest MAF0603GHY series noise suppression filter. The size of this filter is only 0.6 mm x 0.3 mm x 0.3 mm (length x width x height), suitable for small consumer electronics products such as smartphones and wearable devices. The new products in this series are expected to start mass production in April 2026.
The electromagnetic noise radiated by audio circuits such as smartphones and wearable devices can interfere with the built-in antenna, thereby reducing the sensitivity of the receiver. The common solution is to use surface mount magnetic beads. Although effective in suppressing noise, its disadvantage is that it may cause a decrease in the sound quality of the audio line, which may make users feel uncomfortable.
The new MAF0603GWY series noise suppression filter adopts a newly developed proprietary low distortion ferrite material, which solves this drawback. This filter has minimal changes in audio circuit characteristics and can significantly reduce audio distortion, eliminating the sound quality degradation phenomenon that occurs when using surface mount magnetic beads. It provides industry-leading high attenuation in the 5GHz frequency band (impedance up to 3220 Ω at 5GHz), effectively suppressing noise. Compared with traditional products, it also has lower resistance, thereby reducing the attenuation of audio signals and achieving a wider dynamic range.
TDK will continue to contribute to maintaining sound quality and addressing electromagnetic noise in communication enabled mobile and wearable devices by providing a diverse range of noise suppression filter product lines and technical support.
