(NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of four new power inductors, with package sizes of 2.0 mm x 1.6 mm x 1.2 mm 0806 and 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm x 1.2 mm 1210- commercial versions IHLL-0806AZ-1Z and IHLL-1210AB-1Z, as well as automotive grade IHLP-0806AB-5A and IHLP-1210ABEZ-5A. These devices achieve the same performance as their competitors while reducing their footprint by 11% (1210) and 64% (0806), respectively. They also have higher operating temperatures, a wider range of inductance values, and lower direct current resistance (DCR), thereby improving efficiency.

The inductance values of IHLL-0806AZ-1Z and IHLL-1210AB-1Z range from 0.24 mH to 4.70 mH, with a typical DCR as low as 6.6 mW. The terminals of both inductors only have a bottom coating, so smaller solder pads can be used to achieve a more compact circuit board layout. The bottom and sides of the IHLP-0806AB-5A and IHLP-1210ABEZ-5A terminals are coated, which can form side climbing tin, thereby enhancing the fixed strength against high mechanical impact and simplifying solder joint inspection. The device complies with the AEC-Q200 standard and can reliably operate at temperatures up to+165 ° C, which is 10 ° C higher than the integrated inductors of competitors, with a typical DCR as low as 15.0 mW.
Compared with ferrite based technology, the four devices have superior performance. The devices are packaged in a tightly fastened iron powder core integrated molding, completely wrapping the winding to eliminate air gaps and achieve magnetic shielding, preventing crosstalk with surrounding components. At the same time, their soft saturation curve ensures stability throughout the entire operating temperature and rated current range. The new inductor package adopts a 100% lead-free (Pb) shielding composite structure, with extremely low buzzing noise and high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock. It can handle high transient current spikes without saturation.
The recently released Vishay Dale devices comply with RoHS and Vishay green standards, are halogen-free, and are designed specifically for DC/DC converters, noise suppression, and filtering in various application scenarios.
