Infineon Technologies Inc. (FSE code: IFX/OTCQX code: IFNNY) announces the launch of its first fully integrated motor control system in package (SiP) product, MOTIX, for the automotive industry ™ TLE9954QSW40-33。 This new motor driven product is designed to meet the rigorous challenges of extreme miniaturization in the industry, as well as the growing demand for intelligent motor control in space constrained environments.

Infineon launches its first fully integrated motor control system in package (SiP) product, MOTIX, for the automotive industry ™ TLE9954QSW40-33
Andreas Doll, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Intelligent Power Product Line at Infineon Technologies, said, "Compared to a discrete design, integrating all key motor control functions, including power stages, into a single package can reduce the number of semiconductor components for customers by 30% and shrink the size of circuit boards by 40%. This solution can support application scenarios including electric vehicle thermal management systems (including water pumps, fans, valves) and comfort functions such as seat adjustment, achieving a highly compact design.
MOTIX ™ The core of TLE9954QSW40-33 lies in its highly integrated system architecture. It integrates a motor control microcontroller (MCU), power supply, communication interface, three-phase bridge driver, and OptiMOS for the first time in a single LIQFN-58-1 package ™ 7 power levels. This package is designed specifically to optimize the heat dissipation path from MOSFET to PCB, which can significantly reduce parasitic inductance and improve electromagnetic compatibility while supporting high power density, and still perform well under high-frequency switching conditions. Thanks to its high integration, the PCB size in actual comfort system design can even be smaller than a postage stamp, setting a new benchmark for compact design in automotive applications. The motor drive solution is also equipped with a 150 W water pump reference design, which can support higher power output under better heat dissipation conditions.
This device is equipped with Arm ® Cortex ®- M23 core, with a maximum frequency of 40 MHz, built-in 72 kB flash memory and 6 kB RAM. Its Field Oriented Control (FOC) technology ensures efficient and precise operation of the motor; Meanwhile, the flexible PWM generation and automatic LIN message processing functions implemented through the CCU7 timer unit effectively reduce CPU load. The product integrates Arm ® TrustZone ® Technology can provide hardware level isolation for functional safety and information security related functions in automotive applications. MOTIX ™ TLE9954QSW40-33 has passed AEC-Q100 Grade 0 certification and supports ISO 26262 ASIL B standard, meeting the reliability and safety requirements of modern automotive motor control applications. In addition, MOTIX ™ MCU (SiP) is also equipped with a comprehensive system level solution, including hardware kits, application specific reference designs, dedicated software packages, development tools, and FOC motor control software optimized for applications, which can enhance design flexibility and accelerate product launch.
