
Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD) announced the launch of the PI2MEQX2505Q, a 1.8V, 2.5Gbps MIPI D-PHY ReDriver signal conditioner compliant with automotive standards. Designed specifically for the MIPI D-PHY 1.2 protocol, this device features four differential data channels and one clock channel. It regenerates D-PHY signals across channels involving PCB traces, connectors, and cables, delivering optimal electrical performance from CSI-2/DSI source to sink by compensating for frequency loss.

Unlike other re timer solutions on the market, the PI2MEQX2505Q configuration supports a data rate of up to 2.5Gbps, which can meet the higher pixel requirements of automotive camera monitoring systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
PI2MEQX2505Q provides programmable receiver equalization, adjustable output voltage swing, and optional transmitter receiver pre emphasis level. The configurable feature allows engineers to extend PCB routing while reducing signal delay and overall system cost and power consumption. For example, the receiver equalization can be set to three standard levels: 3dB, 6dB, or 9dB at 1250MHz, and pre emphasis levels of 0dB, 1dB, or 3dB can be selected. The output voltage swing can be adjusted to 275mV. The above settings can be configured through the I2C interface or by using the pin trap pin control.
Power efficiency is also a key design feature, which is particularly important for pure electric vehicles (BEVs). The PI2MEQX2505Q operates at a low power supply voltage of 1.8V and can reduce power consumption to extremely low levels by supporting ultra-low power state (ULPS) and low power state (LP). The D-PHY link interface integrates an activity detection circuit, which helps the device transition to a lower power consumption mode in ULPS and LP states. The power consumption indicators are as follows: up to 200mW in active mode, 6mW in low-power mode, and up to 0.2mW in standby mode.
PI2MEQX2505Q adopts a very compact W-QFN3555-28/SWP package (3.5mm x 5.5mm), occupying a very small circuit board area and supporting high-density channel wiring in a compact system design. We also provide standard compliant versions PI2MEQX2505A and PI2MEQX2503A (with 4 data channels and 2 data channels respectively), suitable for industrial and commercial applications.
