May 8, 2025- Providing a wide range of semiconductor and electronic components ™ Mouser Electronics, a well-known new product introduction (NPI) agent in the industry, will supply NXP from today onwards ® Semiconductors' RW612 wireless microcontroller. RW612 is a highly integrated and secure wireless MCU suitable for applications such as smart homes, gaming, industrial automation, and smart accessories.
The NXP RW612 wireless microcontroller is a Matter compatible device that enables wider compatibility and connectivity with IoT devices and protocols that share the same access point. Matter is a universal software layer that also uses Wi Fi ® Or Matter over Thread, a new connectivity standard for IoT devices that provides a universal and interoperable application layer between ecosystems and products. The RW612 MCU combines Wi Fi 6 and low-power Bluetooth 5.4 wireless, supporting long-distance and high-speed transmission, with a data transmission rate of 2Mb/s and extended broadcast function. It also supports 802.15.4 and can achieve integration with Thread mesh network protocol and Zigbee ® Triple frequency integration of the protocol. Currently, Maoze still supplies RW610, which does not support 802.15.4.
RW612 MCU adopts 260MHz Arm ® Cortex ®- M33 kernel with Trustzone ™- M technology is equipped with 1.2MB on-chip SRAM and a four channel SPI interface, which features a highly secure real-time decryption engine and supports secure access to external flash memory. This space saving and cost-effective wireless MCU only requires a 3.3V single power supply. Integrated EdgeLock ® The secure zone (using Core Profile) provides secure boot, debugging, firmware updates, and lifecycle management, as well as hardware encryption and physical anti replication capabilities (PUF) for secure key management. RW612 has passed PSA Level 3 certification and SESIP Level 3 assurance certification.
In addition, Maoze also supplies the FRDM-RW612 development board based on the FRDM platform, which can be used to accelerate the prototype design and development of the RW612 microcontroller series. The FRDM-RW612 provides easy access to MCU I/O, peripherals, integrated serial interfaces, and external flash memory, and comes with an onboard MCU Link debugger. If other resources are needed, such as the NXP Expansion Board Hub and Application Code Center that provide software examples, they can be accessed through the MCUXpresso developer experience.
