Nowadays, many industrial applications can transition to higher power levels while striving for the lowest power loss by increasing the DC bus voltage. To meet this demand, Infineon Technologies (FSE code: IFX/OTCQX code: IFNNY), a global semiconductor leader in power systems and the Internet of Things, has launched CoolSiC ™ Schottky diode 2000 V G5, this is the first discrete silicon carbide diode on the market with a breakdown voltage of 2000 V. This product series is suitable for applications with DC link voltages up to 1500 VDC, with a rated current of 10 A to 80 A. It is the perfect choice for high DC bus voltage applications such as photovoltaics and electric vehicle charging.
CoolSiC packaged in TO247-4 ™ Schottky diode 2000 V G5
This product series is packaged in TO-247PLUS-4-HCC, with a creepage distance of 14 mm and a gap distance of 5.4 mm. In addition, it has a rated current of up to 80 A, significantly improving power density. It enables developers to achieve higher power levels in applications with only half the number of components required for a 1200 V SiC solution. This simplifies the overall design and achieves a smooth transition from a multi-level topology to a 2-level topology.
In addition, CoolSiC ™ Schottky diode 2000V G5 is used XT interconnect technology greatly reduces thermal resistance and impedance, achieving better thermal management. In addition, the HV-H3TRB reliability test also demonstrated the diode's tolerance to humidity. This diode has no reverse or forward recovery current and has the characteristic of forward low voltage, ensuring better system performance.
2000 V diode series and CoolSiC TO-247Plus-4 HCC package launched by Infineon in spring 2024 ™ MOSFET 2000 V Perfect adaptation. CoolSiC ™ The diode 2000 V product portfolio will be expanded by offering the TO-247-2 package, which will be launched in December 2024. In addition, Infineon also offers CoolSiC ™ MOSFET 2000 V Matching gate driver product portfolio.
