Infineon XENSIV ™ 60 GHz CMOS Radar Sensor BGT60CUTR13AIP
As a global semiconductor leader in power systems and the Internet of Things, Infineon Technologies (FSE: IFX/OTCQX: IFNNY) recently released its new generation of highly integrated 60 GHz CMOS radar sensor - XENSIV ™ BGT60CUTR13AIP。 This product is designed specifically for ultra-low power IoT applications, and with its advanced sensing capabilities and energy efficiency performance, it is expected to become a key "physical AI sensor" to promote the intelligent upgrade of smart homes and IoT devices.
New generation XENSIV ™ The 60 GHz CMOS radar sensor integrates a hardware accelerator with on-chip signal processing capabilities, which not only supports customers to flexibly obtain raw or preprocessed data, but also significantly reduces the workload of the main processor. This design optimizes the system architecture, helping to reduce the size of end products and lower costs. In addition, the sensor has a built-in boot loader and fully autonomous ultra-low power presence detection function, which can realize on-demand wake-up of the host and greatly improve energy efficiency management capabilities.
Andreas Kopetz, Vice President of Infineon Technologies and Head of Radar Product Line, said, "Our newly launched XENSIV ™ The 60 GHz CMOS sensor has been deeply optimized for ultra-low power detection scenarios. Combined with our software library, development framework, and transferable FCC certified reference design, customers can quickly integrate advanced radar sensing functions, significantly reducing product development cycles. ”
In terms of performance, XENSIV ™ BGT60CUTR13AIP has a bandwidth of up to 7 GHz and an output power of 11 dBm, enabling high-precision detection of moving and static targets within a range of 20 meters. The sensor adopts an encapsulated antenna (AIP) design, integrating one transmission channel and three reception channels, supporting a field of view angle of up to 150 °, covering both azimuth and elevation dimensions. It can be widely used in security cameras, intelligent thermostats, smart TVs, HVAC systems and other scenarios.
In addition to excellent sensing performance, the sensor has also achieved significant breakthroughs in energy efficiency. Its robust ultra-low power presence detection mechanism can significantly improve the battery life of IoT devices, especially suitable for battery powered devices such as video doorbells, smart speakers, and smart displays that rely on human presence detection for interaction. At the same time, its dedicated software stack also supports advanced functions such as personnel tracking, gesture recognition, activity monitoring, and vital sign detection, enabling devices to respond more intelligently and naturally to environmental changes while protecting user privacy.
Cooperate with Infineon's complete software and hardware support, third-party modules, and transferable FCC certification scheme, XENSIV ™ BGT60CUTR13AIP will help customers quickly achieve product launch, further promoting innovation and application of perception technology in smart homes and building scenarios.
