TDK Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange code: 6762) has launched the EPCOS InsuGate series SMT gate drive transformer, which is compatible with a system operating voltage of DC 1000 V, significantly expanding the product lineup of this series. The ordering code for the new component is B78541A25, which meets the basic insulation requirements of IEC 61558-1/2-16 standard and provides a more compact gate drive design for the full bridge inverter module, especially suitable for applications with higher insulation requirements such as electric vehicles and industry. By adopting a triple insulation winding structure on the skeleton, combined with MnZn ferrite magnetic core, the space occupied by the board was optimized while ensuring high-frequency switching function and high reliability and insulation performance.
This new component is compatible with 1 kV insulation and measures 13.85 x 10.5 x 9.2 mm (length x width x height). Compared to traditional grid single drive transformers with equivalent insulation levels, it can reduce board space by about 30%. Within the working temperature range (up to+150 ° C), its inductance vs. temperature curve is flat, with a nominal inductance of 75 µ H and a coupling capacitance of only 4 pF, making it highly suitable for fast switching IGBT and SiC devices. This series of components has passed AEC-Q200 Rev. E certification and undergone extended mechanical vibration testing in accordance with AQG 324 requirements based on standard Eurocard PCB boards, verifying their durability in powertrain modules. Its partial discharge extinction voltage is ≥ 1.2 kV (Vpeak), suitable for the reinforced insulation requirements of AC 300V, and has passed a high voltage test of 3 kV (AC) for 60 seconds, providing a reliable electrical isolation solution for the next generation of power electronic equipment.
