TDK has received an "A" rating for the first time in the field of climate change
TDK has also received an "A" rating in water resource security, marking the company's first "double A" rating
TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) has been recognized by the global environmental non-profit organization CDP and selected for its annual "A-level list" for its corporate transparency and outstanding performance in climate change and water security initiatives. This is the first time TDK has received an "A" rating in climate change and has achieved this rating for water resource security for five consecutive years.
CDP is a global non-profit organization dedicated to operating a global disclosure system for investors, businesses, cities, states, and regions to manage their impact on the environment. CDP has the world's largest environmental information database, and CDP scores are widely used for investment and procurement decisions, supporting zero carbon, sustainable, and dynamic economic development. In 2024, over 700 financial institutions with total assets exceeding $142 trillion will require companies to disclose environmental impact, risk, and opportunity data through the CDP platform. A total of 24800 companies responded to this requirement, setting a new historical high.
CDP uses a detailed and independent method to evaluate these companies, and the best performing companies each year are included in the 'A-level list'.
TDK will quickly and effectively carry out environmental protection activities while considering climate change and water resource security, aiming to pass on a healthier global environment to the next generation. Disclosing these activities is crucial to ensure transparency in our environmental impact and sustainable development efforts. In the field of climate change, we have set a long-term goal of achieving net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 and have obtained SBTi certification to achieve our goal by the fiscal year 2030. We attach great importance to this achievement as it will be a recognition of these activities.
Looking towards the future, we will continue to be guided by our corporate philosophy and committed to solving social problems through our business activities. As stated in our long-term vision 'TDK Transformation', TDK will continue to be committed to contributing to a sustainable future.
