On December 23, 2024, China - STMicroelectronics, a globally leading semiconductor company serving multiple electronic applications, abbreviated as ST; The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: STM) has launched its first product in a strategic partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, which simplifies the development process of next-generation industrial and consumer IoT wireless solutions. The initial goal of this collaboration is to leverage STMicroelectronics' powerful STM32 ecosystem and leverage Qualcomm Technologies' leading wireless connectivity solutions to launch wireless IoT modules for the consumer and industrial markets.
The first module ST67W611M1 includes a Qualcomm ® The QCC743 multi protocol system on chip (SoC) comes pre installed with Wi Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 qualified, and Thread combo protocols, making it easy to integrate with any STM32 microcontroller (MCU) or microprocessor (MPU). This module will support the Matter protocol on Wi Fi, enabling future oriented wireless connectivity and enabling the STM32 product portfolio to smoothly enter the Matter ecosystem. For the convenience of system integration, the module also includes 4MB of code and data flash memory, as well as a 40MHz crystal oscillator. In addition, the module is equipped with an integrated PCB antenna or miniature RF (uFL) external antenna connector.

The module is equipped with advanced hardware security features, including hardware encryption accelerators, secure boot, and secure debugging services, achieving PSA certification level 1 protection. This module is an independent product that has been pre certified according to mandatory specifications and does not require developers to have expertise in RF design. This module integrates many functions within a 32 pin LGA package and can be directly mounted on a circuit board using a simple, low-cost two-layer PCB circuit board.
ST67W611M1 relies on the STM32 ecosystem. This ecosystem includes over 4000 products, powerful STM32Cube tools and software, as well as software and hardware that facilitate edge artificial intelligence development, including the recently launched STM32N6 MCU and ST Edge AI Suite software. The STM32N6 MCU integrates STMicroelectronics' self-developed neural network processor Neural ART Accelerator; ST Edge AI Suite provides AI Model Zoo module library and STM32Cube AI and NanoEdge AI optimization tools.
The design intention of these modules is to quickly integrate with any STM32 microcontroller or STM32 microprocessor, providing customers with flexible, extensive performance, price, and power options. The existing microcontroller product line is complete, covering the entire market of low, medium, and high-end applications, and is equipped with Arm ® Cortex ®- Products that are sensitive to the cost and power consumption of M0+cores, as well as microcontrollers based on high-performance cores, such as the STM32MP1/2 MPU equipped with Cortex-M4 and Cortex-A7.
