During AIoT Korea Exhibition 2024, Guanghetong released the 5G module FG370-KR, providing excellent 5G solutions for the Korean 5G AIoT industry and accelerating the large-scale commercialization of 5G in Korea.
According to the 2023 report by the Korea Communications Commission, the number of 5G users in South Korea has reached 32.81 million. According to Omdia, a global consulting firm, it is expected that by the end of 2024, the number of 5G users in South Korea will surpass 4G and reach 69 million by 2028. At present, the South Korean 5G market is in a leading position globally and shows a strong growth trend. The accelerated commercialization of 5G in South Korea has not only generated rich industry applications in industrial interconnection, healthcare, smart cities, entertainment, and media, but also accelerated the deployment of FWA broadband services. The Guanghetong 5G module FG370-KR is compatible with the mainstream 5G frequency bands in South Korea, which will help the Korean market quickly deploy 5G FWA.
FG370-KR is based on the high-performance MediaTek T830 platform, supporting the 3GPP R16 evolution standard, using a 4nm process technology and Arm Cortex-A55 quad core CPU, with a 10% increase in clock speed performance compared to the previous generation MediaTek T750 platform. In addition, T830 also has built-in hardware level MediaTek Network Processing Unit and Wi Fi Offload Engine, which can provide gigabit throughput performance for 5G cellular network transmission to Ethernet or Wi Fi without increasing CPU load, bringing extraordinary network experience.
In terms of 5G speed, FG370-KR integrates M80 5G modem, supports Sub-6GHz full band 5G network, and helps end customers enjoy 5G broadband experience. FG370-KR supports up to 300MHz bandwidth and NR 4CA (four carrier aggregation) for downlink and NR 2CA (dual carrier aggregation) for uplink in mixed FDD and TDD modes, providing 5G speeds up to 7Gbps for downlink. In terms of signal coverage, FG370-KR supports PC2 with HPUE (High Power User Equipment) technology, which enhances the uplink capability of 5G and helps to increase the effective coverage range of 5G.
The FG370-KR supports a variety of peripheral interfaces, including three PCI Express, USB 3.2, and two USXGMII interfaces with speeds up to 10GbE. It can also be extended to SLIC functionality through PCM/SPI interfaces to support RJ11 telephone interfaces. At the same time, FG370-KR also supports diverse storage configurations, which can flexibly and efficiently meet various storage needs of different applications. With the support of MediaTek 5G UltraSave power-saving technology, FG370-KR can optimize its working mode according to the 5G network environment, reduce communication power consumption, and greatly improve the user experience of broadband access products.
Thanks to the above software and hardware features, FG370-KR will continue to create comprehensive solutions with better performance, higher speed, and stronger professionalism for end customers. As a global leader in MBB FWA solutions, Guanghetong will continue to provide innovative products and solutions for the global 5G market, promoting the accelerated development of 5G broadband.
Tao Xi, Vice President of Product Management Department of Guanghetong MBB, said:
