Kangjiate launches TI Jacinto ™ New SMARC modules for 7 TDA4x or DRA8x processors
2023/10/17 Shanghai, China * * * As a leading supplier of embedded and edge computing technologies, Kongat announced the launch of Jacinto based on Texas Instruments (TI) ™ The latest SMARC 2.1 embedded computer module for 7 TDA4x or DRA8x processors. These new industrial grade embedded computer modules are highly suitable for high-performance artificial intelligence edge applications, featuring ultra-low power consumption (ULP) packaging, dual Arm Cortex-A72 processors, powerful AI accelerators, and 3D graphics. The conca-STDA4 module consumes only 5 to 10 watts of power and is designed for industrial mobile machinery that require 2D/3D cameras, radar, and near-field analysis based on LiDAR, such as Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), as well as engineering and agricultural machinery applications. They are also applicable to any visual centric industrial automation or medical solution that requires powerful and energy-efficient artificial intelligence processing at the edges.
The new SMARC module comes with two MIPI CSI camera interfaces. The Conga STDA4 based on TDA4x processor adds pre trained AI models for Image Signal Processor (ISP), Visual Accelerator, and TI Model Zoo, helping to immediately start the development of artificial intelligence driven applications. In addition, it is equipped with a robot SDK for enhancing functionality. The DRA8x version also offers a cost-effective option that does not support visual processing accelerators. Both of these high-throughput modules are designed to withstand harsh industrial environments, supporting an extended temperature range of -40 ° C to+85 ° C, as well as time sensitive network (TSN) and network security features.
Martin Danzer, Director of Product Management at Kongat, explained, "By incorporating the powerful Texas Instruments Jacinto ™ The integration of 7 TDA4x and TI DRA8x processors into our high-performance SMARC 2.1 module ecosystem simplifies the design process of this advanced SoC technology based on Arm Cortex-A72. This enables designers based on machine vision applications in various embedded industries to focus on their core competencies, save upfront costs, and shorten time to market, especially for industrial mass production For industrial OEMs, especially those who do not have the time and financial resources to fully customize their designs, they can benefit from the innovative SMARC high-performance ecosystem provided by Kongat. It simplifies the design process while ensuring the safety of high-end designs and reducing research and development (NRE) costs.
Feature Details
Kongat's new conca-STDA4 embedded computer module based on the SMARC 2.1 module specification is equipped with TI Jacinto based on 2 Arm Cortex-A72 and 6 Arm Cortex-R5F ™ 7 TDA4VM or DRA829J processors. The new module has 2 MIPI-CSI 4 channels and an integrated Image Signal Processor (ISP) for MIPI-CSI cameras, enabling high-quality camera, LiDAR, or radar data capture and processing.
This module uses a Deep Learning Matrix Multiplication Accelerator (MMA) and a C7x floating-point vector DSP, with a maximum of 80 GFLOP, providing excellent performance for deep learning and artificial intelligence processing. Jacinto ™ The unique Visual Processing Accelerator (VPAC) for the 7 TDA4VM version is equipped with an Image Signal Processor (ISP) and multiple visual assistance accelerators, ensuring high-quality image processing and analysis. The common feature of the two processors is the Depth and Motion Processing Accelerator (DMPAC), which can achieve precise depth perception and motion tracking. Graphics performance includes GPGPU functionality and is enhanced through the integrated graphics accelerator 3D GPU PowerVR Rogue 8XE GE8430. The new module features Kongat's high-performance SMARC 2.1 module ecosystem support, customized cooling solutions, evaluation and application readiness boards, and value-added services, including signal compliance testing, three proofing coatings, and design training.
Based on Texas Instruments Jacinto ™ The new conca-STDA4 SMARC embedded computer module for 7 TDA4V and DRA8 processors supports Linux, QNX, RTOS, and VxWorks, and offers the following standard configurations, with customized options available upon request:
