A new 100V product suitable for commercial applications, achieving a 1 μ F capacitor in a 1608 package size (realizing a large capacitor)

TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) has expanded the capacitance of its C-series commercial multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCC) to 1 µ F at 100V, with a package size of 1608 (1.6x0.8x0.8mm - length x width x height) and X7R characteristics. This is currently the highest capacitance value in the industry among 100V grade products under the packaging size and temperature characteristics. This series of products will begin mass production in June 2025.
In recent years, 48V systems have become increasingly common in artificial intelligence servers, energy storage systems, and various industrial equipment to improve system efficiency and reduce power consumption. As a result, the demand for 100V grade MLCCs used as power line capacitors continues to grow.
This new C-series 100V product has optimized material selection and product design to achieve a capacity 10 times that of traditional products of the same size.
Therefore, reducing the usage and installation area of MLCC can help reduce the number of components and achieve device miniaturization. TDK will further expand its product lineup to meet customer needs.
