Eaton, an intelligent power management company, announced today the launch of a series of advanced Pyro Fuse products to further expand its circuit protection product line. Among them, the dual trigger series is particularly noteworthy, which can greatly enhance the safety and reliability of electric vehicles (EVs).

Eaton's dual trigger Pyro Fuse is equipped with an independent backup trigger device, which can automatically cut off the circuit even without external commands.

Unlike traditional fuse circuits that rely on self melting to cut off the circuit when it fails, Pyro Fuse uses an igniter and propulsion device to quickly cut off the copper bar, thereby achieving power outage. Its working principle is similar to that of a car airbag. On this basis, Eaton's dual trigger Pyro Fuse also has an independent backup trigger device built-in, which can automatically cut off the circuit even without external commands. This feature replicates the passive safety function of traditional hot melt fuses, adding an additional robust safety line to electric vehicles.

Breaktor circuit protection technology is known for its ultra fast response speed, capable of performing high-voltage disconnection within 4 milliseconds when dealing with short-circuit faults up to 900 volts and 25000 amps. Unlike traditional fuses, Breakers have circuit breaker like resettable features, greatly reducing manufacturers' production costs and consumers' downtime.

The Bussmann series EV fuses have a rated current of up to 1400 amps and a rated voltage of up to 1000 volts, and can be customized according to OEM requirements.
