You can visit Pickering Electronics' booth at booth 11023 at the Automotive Testing Expo to be held in Shanghai, China from August 28th to 30th, 2024.
Pickering Electronics, a leading manufacturer of high-performance reed relays, will showcase its comprehensive high voltage (HV) reed relay product line at the 2024 China International Automotive Testing Expo, including the newly launched 5kV versions of the surface mount Series 219 reed relay and the single in-line Series 104 reed relay. The exhibition will be held from August 28th to 30th, 2024 at Hall 1 of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, with Pickering Electronics' booth number 11023.
The International Automotive Testing Expo is held annually in Shanghai, China, Detroit, USA, and Stuttgart, Germany. It is a leading international trade exhibition for testing, development, and validation in the automotive industry worldwide. The exhibition covers all stages from prototype to mass production, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AV) testing, testing of electric and hybrid power transmission systems, battery life testing, electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noise vibration roughness (NVH) testing and analysis, as well as a complete set of testing and validation technologies for vehicle, component, and system development.
More than 300 exhibitors will showcase the latest products, services, and technologies, covering measurement tools, test benches, simulation software packages, durability testing, collision testing, dynamometers, emission measurement systems, and dynamic assessment tools, as well as testing grounds and facilities.
Pickering Electronics' wide range of high-performance reed relays are suitable for high voltage applications, capable of withstanding insulation voltages from 1.5kV to 15kV and switching voltages from 500V to 12.5kV at up to 200W, "said Rob King, Product Development Manager.
Pickering Electronics' Series 219 HV SMD (Surface Mount Device) reed relay is highly suitable for testing work at electric vehicle charging stations. This relay can easily switch voltages up to 1kV and is currently the only surface mount high-voltage relay available in 2 Form A and 1 Form B packages on the market. All contact configurations offer options for 3V, 5V, or 12V coil voltage, and the switching insulation voltage of the 1 Form A package can reach up to 3kV, the 1 Form B package can reach up to 2kV, and the 2 Form A package can reach up to 1.5kV.
In addition, the company's latest HV Series 104 family member is the first miniature single in line (SIL/SIP) reed relay with insulation voltage up to 5kV and switching voltage up to 1.5kV. This relay is particularly suitable for applications that require compact design, as the stacking height of these devices is only 6.35mm. Despite its compact size, this relay still maintains reliable performance, ensuring the effectiveness and safety of high-voltage switching or control operations.
At the exhibition, Pickering will also showcase other reed relays in its high-voltage product line, including the Series 67 and 68 families. These relays adopt a frameless coil design, making the overall size smaller than general relays, only 58.4 x 12.6 x 14.5 millimeters. The Series 67 relay provides PCB connections for switches and coils, and offers the highest power switching capability in Pickering high-voltage relay combinations - up to 200W. Series 68 relays provide PCB connections in the coil aspect, while using fly wire connections in the switch aspect, which can isolate high-voltage circuits from the PCB. The optional electrostatic shielding layer is located between the switch and the coil, which helps minimize interference between the coil drive and the high-voltage circuit. In addition, Pickering's Series 131 mini SIL high-voltage reed relay is currently the smallest high-voltage relay in the industry.
Pickering's high-voltage isolated reed relays are highly suitable for various applications, including electric vehicles (EVs), high-end cable testers, backplane testers, mixed signal semiconductor testers, solar energy equipment, online circuit testing equipment, and high-voltage instruments and meters. These relays have become ideal choices in these fields due to their excellent performance and reliability.
At the 2024 China International Automotive Testing Expo, Pickering Group will also showcase modular signal switching and sensor simulation technology provided by its switch and simulation department Pickering Interfaces, as well as cables and connectors provided by its interconnection department Pickering Connect, all of which are used in the field of electronic testing and verification. This will further expand Pickering Group's display scope in the field of automotive testing, providing customers with complete solutions.
